Mickey Lamantia "ml750"

Mickey Lamantia is an American Country Singer/Songwriter from Cranston, Rhode Island. His style of music falls within the subgenre of Outlaw Country and he is considered a traditional country purist both lyrically and musically. He has been a Rhode Island state correctional officer for 20 years and has two children with his wife, Amanda. He is the youngest of five children and is known for using his perspective as a prison guard to pen many of his songs. Coming from blue-collar, Christian roots, Lamantia’s father worked heavy equipment construction and while his mother opted to sty home with the children, not working until they were older.
Mickey knew early on he wanted to be a musician. His parents listened to Loretta Lynn, George Jones, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and Boxcar Willie. His uncle, Leroy, played in Honkey Tonks around New England and Lamantia would be invited to sit in sometimes as a teenager. In 1992, he was heard singing a Randy Travis song at a karaoke bar and was asked to open four shows in New England for Willie Nelson at just 22 years of age.
In 2015, Lamantia began hosting one of the first shows on the monster site, Facebook, entitled Whiskey Wednesdays. The show is sponsored by Sons of Liberty Whiskey Co., and averages 10,000 to 20,000 views each week. Lamantia is an efficient user of social media to promote his work, often doing spontaneous videos or halftime shows on his page during football games. His most recent album, Every Bad Habit debuted at #10 on the ITunes Album Chart, a phenomenal feat for an independent artist. In 2017, Lamantia opened for Mickey Gilley at The Cowboy Palace in Nashville. He also played The Tumbleweed music festival in Kansas City with country legends Billy Joe Shaver and Jamey Johnson.
